In the latest study published in the journal SLEEP, your risk of heart disease and stroke are significantly increased if you sleep more, or fewer, than seven/eight hours per day (including naps) :
- Less than 5-6 hours a night doubles your risk of angina, coronary heart disease, heart attack or stroke. Also increases the risk of weight gain and diabetes.
- 7 to 8 hours is optimal for most people.
- More than 9 hours a night doubles your risk of cardiovascular disease.
We conducted a poll of our members last week on their sleep habits, the results were encouraging!
(Sleep is also the time our muscle grows!)
Sleep well, live well!
